Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is transmitted directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results; this site does not retain or record the terms submitted.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When a visitor sends a message or email, we retain it as needed to respond. It remains within the site team unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server automatically receives basic technical and usage details, which can include:
- Page-view timestamps
- The referring website, when one is available
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- Device category and operating system
- Browser type and version
- The device's IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure website use, including popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers combine this activity into traffic statistics. A browser can be configured to refuse cookies, although doing so may change how some website features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Maintaining site availability, performance, and page speed
- Directing a submitted search to the appropriate outside provider
- Measuring which guides visitors use and where improvements are needed
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Trigg County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its guides explain how to approach the Trigg County Sheriff, the Trigg Circuit Court Clerk, the Kentucky State Police Criminal Identification and Records Branch, the Kentucky Court of Justice AOC Records Unit, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal-history profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate this site's search boxes. Their privacy policies, not this policy, govern information entered into those tools. Each company chooses its own retention and disclosure practices, which are outside our control. Read the applicable provider policy before running a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Trigg County Sheriff's Office, Kentucky court portals, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search providers. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites for interest-based advertising. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may nevertheless be received by:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Advertising networks serving material on the pages
- Search companies processing queries submitted through their tools
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected information. No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary with a visitor's residence and the law that applies. The Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870-.884, governs records held by public agencies, while KRS 17.500-.580 controls dissemination and use of Kentucky sex-offender registry information; those public-record laws do not turn this private site into a government custodian. Subject to applicable law, visitors may:
- Request access to personal data we hold about them
- Ask that inaccurate personal data be corrected
- Seek deletion of their personal data
- Opt out of eligible forms of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised from time to time. A new version becomes available on this page with an updated effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.
Effective date: July 26, 2026
